Research positions, MCB

The Nuzhdin lab is looking for undergraduates to participate in a long-term Drosophila behavioral genetics and modelling project. Support will be given for obtaining scholarships and stipends, as well as the possibility of research for credit (Bisc 499).

The research involves several components. Fly maintenance and crosses; setting up (video) behavioural experiments; and video scoring. Training will be provided. We request a minimum 10 hours a week. Hours are flexible (mornings, evenings and weekends), as long as you coordinate, and meet your commitments. Nuzhdin lab undergraduates have been highly successful applying to scholarships and awards, and spoken at conferences and other high-profile events.

You will be welcome at  lab meetings, be exposed to a variety of molecular, whole organismal and computational techniques. You will also be encouraged to work on independent, group, or semi-independent projects. Past undergrads have gone on to medical schools, pharmacy school, graduate school and other research positions, with excellent CVs and letters of reference.

Please email Brad Foley, bradfole@usc.edu, a resume, and a short (1-2 paragraph) description of your research interests.
