Fall SSCI Course Offerings

Two Fall Classes offered by the Spatial Sciences Institute:

SSCI 101: “Workshop in Spatial Analysis” is a 2-unit, 10-Week Course (8/25-10/27) open to all majors and all class levels. This introductory course provides an overview of the various way in which mobile apps can be used to help improve our understanding of the meaning and significance of place. The class meets once a week on Mondays, 4:00-6:20pm.

SSCI 301: “Maps and Spatial Reasoning” is a 4 unit course open to all majors. This course examines how spatial literacy can be used in a variety of fields such as health care and medicine, economics and engineering, architecture and planning, environmental science and sociology, among many others. Students learn how to use modern geospatial technologies to investigate specific places, their peoples, and local environment.
