This course is designed to teach media production and editing for the non-film major. The purpose is not to train filmmakers, but to train the next generation of industry leaders how to communicate visually, rather than simply through words.

Students will explore the principles of shooting video, with a strong technical focus on using the software to achieve professional results.  In this course, you will shoot video on your cell phone and edit it using a variety of professional video and editing software.

The course will concentrate on the following software (which may change as software evolves):

                                    -Final Cut Pro X

                                    -Adobe Audition CS6

                                    -Motion 5

                                    -Apple Compressor 4

***This course is co-taught by two industry experts — Larry Jordan and Bill Black.  Professor Jordan’s ITP 411 courses was recognized as one of USC’s Top 10 Classes: Student Picks for 2013.***
