Model UN Board Member Applications Open to Public: Due April 25th by 5:00pm

Due to the rapid growth in our size and ambitions, Model United Nations of Southern California is accepting applications for multiple Executive Board positions!

We are looking for a Conventional Funding Director, Director of Public Relations, Social Chair, and Secretary. Descriptions of these 4 positions are listed below.

Any interested student may apply.

Applicants must show competence with respect to their stated position, and a strong passion for the growth and prosperity of Model United Nations. For those interested in taking on a Vice President or even President role in the future, being on the board early in Model UN’s development is a great way to be more engaged and show you have what it takes to lead an organization. Some of our board members have gone to work both in the U.S. and abroad at places like the United Nations, Fortune 500 companies, consulting firms, banks, and several international organizations. By joining the Model UN Executive Board you will have the opportunity to develop professional and personal relationships with an elite group of members that can provide an array of guidance and support.

1. Conventional Funding Director: Officer charged with applying for funds from USC organizations such as Undergraduate Student Government and Political Student Assembly
2. Public Relations: Responsible for the graphic identity and the web presence: the website and all Facebook groups, Twitter, as well as the flyers and images we put out. May be called upon by other board members to produce marketing devices for their projects.
3. Social Chair: Plans two main social events per semester: a Model UN house party and a networking event with faculty and Model UN members. This role may expand depending on the rigors of planning these two events in practice.
4. Secretary: Sends e-mails to the members, and is to be utilized at the behest of the Board – if a formal e-mail, letter or other communication is required, a team member may authorize the Secretary to carry this out.

The application form is attached, and it is due April 25, 2012 by 5pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to involved with Model United Nations if you have not yet had the opportunity, and a chance to take on a leadership position in our fast-growing club.
